RJ CREATIONS: New Site

Check out my newly design website for potential employers and creative viewers. Many of my creations would not download onto the site but I feel I have captured a nice looking design and website to show my strengths and experience within the design/decorating world. I hope to start from the bottom and grow into a greatly experienced designer/decorator in any of my field-interests. I am ready to learn from the best and take my abilities to the next level and learn as an individual-what it takes and how to get there.

New shoots for my portfolio for wardrobe&photography; different locations to portray different moods and settings. Pictures initially used for models personal portfolio work. She needed editoral looks and commerical images in order to enchance her variety. I am not a professionally trained photographer however I had a lot of fun and thought I did a pretty nice job and she was pleased with the overall outcome which made every one happy.

Thanks to all that helped and prepared the model for her big debut!

It was great trying out a new creative outlet.

R FOLIO: Loft creations

I have created new portfolio options involving one of my many interests and talents in design. I combined props in a set design quality with different themes and items. For the first image is a collection of found objects to create a loft style effect.


 This second image is a collection of Zara styled options, in regards to wardrobe also being a part of set/prop design when adding a model to the scene and wanting to create the full image and mood. The selected items from Zara is a mixture between sparkle and black for the holiday season and/ new years up-coming events.

The array of plates and tea cups etc. are placed as if they were in a store being advertised in a merchandising manner or set design on a table if you will.

 I also pulled items from Home Sense to create little sets of furniture and accessories to create a mood or theme for a potential room.

I hope you enjoyed viewing a few of my set, prop and wardrobe options I will continue to expand my abilities within the design world and create more advanced looks as my resources increase however it was a little challenging to be able to have time, space and the proper equipment in order for my creations to look as professional as I would like. I have learned a lot during this portfolio work about my abilities and the challenges I face as I start my own design experiences. It was a lot of fun and a great learning experience!

One of my design interests is to work within an art department producing prop and set pieces for film, TV, and or theatre productions. I think it would be a great way to showcase my creativity and talent.

It would be interesting to create different props within a set in order to create a mood or dream like picture or scene.

One of the hottest fashion styling company's in Toronto, Ontario with locations in Montreal and Vancouver as well. They have a successful team of individuals to put together advertisements and sets for magazines and even television (citytv etc.) Judy Inc has a wide variety of style and design throughout their images and props/set design for multiple clients and companies. Sahara Widoff

 gives her sets a dream like quality as well as found objects which provides a lot of colour and textures within each piece. The balance and placement of each "found object" creates a story and a lovely set for promoting different pieces or a certain image/style.

Lislotte Watkins

 Liselotte gives a similar taste to finding different ways of placing objects and fabrics together, it is not disorganized or clutter there is a need for each object in order to tell a story to portray a different theme within each image.

Prop styling and set design are used for a variety of things, mostly to prompt a brand or lifestyle, can also be used within display window to portray the same image to a buyer. For theatre productions each prop used, clothing worn, time-period must all be researched and studied in order to give true to the piece and dialogue for each act/scene. This also is true within television and film, viewers must see the set as being realistic towards to theme or certain scene. The production of each set for any purpose is very important and is useful to prompt different moods and styles to potential clients or customers.

I really would love to work on commercial spaces, I enjoy the freedom you have in terms of budget and colour or themed depending on the certain space.

I receive emails from The Cool Hunter to keep me in the latest tends and neat interiors, it has many innovative ideas from places all over the world.


Green Restaurant :: Tokyo

The space has clean lines with curved ones as well in order to give the restaurant interior an organic flavor. The foliage gives the rich woods and open space some accent pieces and life to the space in order to create some interest and keep the organic look through out. Playing with an industrial look mixing it with organic elements which creates a very open breathable space.


Allure Nightclub :: Abu Dhabi Marina

 A fun lounge space with architectural innovative designs to create interest with the different shapes and lines through out. The various triangle shape is dominant in the bar area and the placements of lights with different hues really gives that colour and feel of a nightclub.

Who wouldn't love outdoor living !?

  

There are many rustic elements of this design, let me tell you in all my courses at Sheridan the word "rustic" was used a lot. People seem to enjoy the effects and feel these elements may give a room. I have always been one to enjoy a nice big distressed leather chair or any accessories that are worn or do not need the ought most care! it is easier relaxed living and I think that is why so many people and decorators respond to this type of rustic element.

Home styled inspiration, I am really liking the style of the modern home and spaces with rustic elements of greys and browns introduced with animal throws and textured pillows..

White seating with rustic wood coffee tables and brick elements to give the feel of relaxation and comfort

the hint of greys and browns from accessories such as pillows and ordainments give a pop of colour and textures to complete a relaxed look that appeals to many...

This look is stylistic, relaxed and is easy to add different elements in any room at any given time!

Hello Everyone, 


It has been a rewarding two years at Sheridan College, I have learned a lot and will miss my friends and teachers. I have been searching for any decorating opportunities, and I hope to be lucky enough to work with some great people and gain experience in the near future :)

OH, and by the way if interested, I have been updating the look of my other personal portfolio websites. I do have an urban flare of style, however I thought in order to appeal to a wider group of people or firm I must create a clean, crisp workable website. The modern sleek style with rustic elements is definitely a great look and I admire many different decorating styles, because in todays ever changing world, anything goes :)

Rustic Country 20-20 Kitchen Design

We needed to create a rustic modern country kitchen in our 20 20 class from clients "doug and barb" they wanted lots of room, a tv to watch their cooking shows, and sitting in the kitchen without the regular table and chairs. They love country design and needed the best of the best appliances and gadgets...........








This is what I came up with !

 I have created a very open space with maxium storage and top of the line appliances. The blue, green and red plaid for the place mats and stool cushions give the space a bit more country feeling, mind you the 20 20 software did not have much to chose from, I tried my hardest to make it as country as I know how with a hint of modern!
